Personal Thank You Letter Sample

Dear Sam,

I hope my letter finds you in perfect health with prayers and well-wishes for you and your family. It was a great pleasure to stay at your place during my visit. I had an awesome time; and I can say without a doubt that it was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable business trip I have had in a very long time.

Staying at your place revived so many childhood memories and recollections of teenage sleepovers; baked beans and potatoes for breakfast, and my favorite cheese omelette you prepare so expertly. Chess matches over evening tea – always coming to a draw. In fact, we never have been able to outwit one another. I even enjoyed our heated discussions on politics. Everything was just like the old days. We get so entangled in our lives that we barely have time to reminiscence about the old days. For me, this business trip turned out to be an unexpected vacation.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to stay with me next time you visit the States. I know that you usually have a tight schedule and you would obviously like to spend time with your family. But all I ask of you for is a couple of days. Allow me to hone my rapidly deteriorating hospitality skills. Also, the annual high school reunion is coming up in July. I would highly recommend that you try to schedule your trip so that we could go there together to meet all our classmates – especially our “splendid six” group. We all have so much catching up to do; it would be great if you could make it.

I want to thank you thoroughly once again for inviting me to your place and giving me so much of  your precious time. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and giving me some more beautiful memories to cherish. It all really did mean a lot to me.
